Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 is slated to play two days of back-to-back games in the FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be staged in Graz, Austria from May 26 to 30.
Bunched with France, Slovenia, Qatar, and the Dominican Republic in Group C, the Philippines has to win as many games as it can to give itself a fighting chance for 1 of the 3 Tokyo Olympics spots up for grabs.
The Philippines, ranked No. 20 in the world, will face No. 26 Qatar and No. 3 Slovenia on May 26.
After a one-day break, Gilas 3×3 will then tangle with No. 33 Dominican Republic and No. 10 France on May 28.
Only the top two teams from each of the 4 groups will advance to the knockout stage, where the winner of the semifinals and third-place games will advance to the Olympics.
Joshua Munzon and Alvin Pasaol – the two top 3×3 players in the country – lead the national team, which is also composed of CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa.
