UP Fighting Maroons' James Spencer has suited up for the Dandenong Rangers in NBL1, a semi-professional league in Australia

Add James Spencer to the growing list of Filipino basketball players who have pursued an overseas career.

The Filipino-Aussie, a member of the UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP, is currently playing for the Dandenong Rangers in NBL1, a semi-professional league in Australia.

He has already suited up in two games for Dandenong, averaging 4.0 points, 1.5 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 steal in 14 minutes of play.

The Rangers are currently tied for last place in NBL1 South with a 0-2 record after losing to the Frankston Blues and Diamond Valley.

Spencer donned the national colors for Gilas Youth in the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, where he normed 4.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.6 rebounds as the country finished 14th out of the 16 participating nations.

The 21-year-old guard then saw action for UP in the UAAP, helping the Fighting Maroons reach the Final Four in Season 82. – Rappler.com
