LOOK: Jordan Brand unveils Air Jordan XXXVI

Jordan Brand has officially introduced its latest basketball sneaker under Michael Jordan’s iconic signature line, the Air Jordan XXXVI. 

Designed by experts at Jordan Brand, who combined their specialties to make the “best basketball shoe in the world,” the Air Jordan XXXVI features a jacquard leno-weave upper, a full-length Zoom Air Strobel unit that is double-stacked with a forefoot unit, and a refined plate system.

The Air Jordan XXXVI’s game-changing lightweight material and cushioning set-up was designed for the athleticism of the Jordan Brand’s elite young roster that includes NBA stars Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, and Zion Williamson, as well as WNBA standouts Satou Sabally and Kia Nurse.

“The Jordan Brand Design team really did their thing,” said Sabally, forward for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA.

“The 36 is amazing, it’s super light. When you pick it up, you don’t just feel it – you see it. I knew from the minute I put it on that it’s going to be fun to play in,” she added.

Aside from the unique innovations that make the shoe as light and comfortable as it could possibly be, the Air Jordan XXXVI also features an infinity symbol-like foam ribbon design through the midsole which represents Michael Jordan’s infinite influence on the sport of basketball and beyond.

Moreover, the lace cover, cutouts on the outsole, and embellishments on the heel are tributes to the Air Jordan VI, the shoe in which Michael Jordan won his first NBA title in 1991.

“We wanted to connect the ribbon and cover up the plate system. In doing so, we brought in subtle details from the Air Jordan VI and created a tooling that conveys Michael’s lasting influence in worldwide culture,” said Jordan Brand footwear designer Tate Keurbis.

The Air Jordan XXXVI ‘Glory’ colorway is now available on the Nike App for P9,695, and a wider local release will hit Philippine shelves on September 2.
