Working out in the country’s hot, humid weather becomes really uncomfortable even at home.

But as major sports brands continue to unveil new fabric technology to combat sweat and heat, Filipinos can now focus on reaching their fitness goals without the unnecessary fatigue.

Here are some of the lightweight and cooling workout apparels in the Philippine market today:

Adidas recently launched its Heat.RDY collection that is made out of sweat-wicking fabrics that allow athletes and fitness enthusiasts to remain cool and dry during the workout.

The material reacts to the body to optimize performance, where its temperature-regulating features are activated when the body warms up during the workout.

Not only does the material enhance the body’s own cooling process, but the products are designed strategically to keep air gaps in certain parts of the body for a more adaptive fit when in motion.

The Under Armour HeatGear line is also made out of performance fabrics that are made to keep the body cool, dry and light during workouts.

This technology quickly became one of the flagship products of the brand as it released a wide range of leggings, shorts, tops and sports bras that are perfect for working out in hot, humid climates.

Included in the line is the Under Armour Sportsmask that is a reusable, water-resistant performance face mask designed to optimize breathing and maximum comfort. (READ: Safe and sporty: Major sports brands unveil face masks)

Anyone struggling with boob sweat, too?

Ultrabreathe sports bra is Nike’s lightest and most moisture-repelling bra to date that has been tried and tested after working out in a very humid environment, jumping in a pool to cool off and coming back to a soggy bra hours later.

The bra comes in light, medium and strong support iterations and was constructed through sweat mapping to identify the areas where women typically sweat and where they need more breathability. (READ: What to look for when you’re shopping for activewear)
