Nexplay Esports sapped strength from Renejay “Renejay” Bacarse to turn back Laus Playbook Esports in Season 7 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) on Saturday, April 24.

After sitting out their Game 1 loss, Renejay delivered back-to-back sterling performances as Nexplay completed a reverse sweep of LPE in their best-of-three duel for their second straight series win.

Renejay barely practiced with the team the past week as he dealt with personal matters.

But the Nexplay gold laner showed he remained in top form after tallying 2 kills and 12 assists against 0 deaths on Claude in Game 2, and 6 kills and 4 assists against 1 death on Chou in the deciding Game 3.

LPE seemed headed for a sweep after seizing a slight advantage in the first 10 minutes of Game 2 only to witness Renajay and Nexplay turn the tables for the 17-minute finish.

With momentum on its side, Nexplay made easy work of LPE in the rubber match, ending Game 3 with a 38-5 kill difference and a massive 15,000 gold advantage.

John Paul “H2wo” Salonga starred in Game 3 with 15 kills and 10 assists against 2 deaths on Ling, while Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera had 6 kills and 17 assists against 0 deaths on Jawhead.

Lance “Lancecy” Cunanan also made his presence felt in Game 3 with 9 kills and 15 assists against 1 death on Lunox.

Earlier in the day, league newcomer Work Auster Force pulled off a stunning 2-0 sweep of Aura PH to nail the top spot in Group A.

Meanwhile, Onic PH ended the three-series winning streak of defending champion Bren Esports with a 2-0 verdict. – Rappler.com
