Back-to-back Yve picks prove to be the difference for Omega Esports as it sweeps Execration, including a 16-0 shutout victory

Omega Esports got back on track in Season 7 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) with a stunning sweep of Execration on Friday, April 23.

After a 1-2 series loss to unbeaten Blacklist International the day prior, Omega found its groove with a 2-0 win over Execration, including a 16-0 shutout in the second game of their best-of-three series.

Back-to-back Yve picks proved to be the difference for Omega as Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira posted flawless kill-death-assist (KDA) lines in the sweep with the mage hero.

Setting up a terrifying combo with Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo (Pharsa), KurtTzy chalked up 2 kills and 11 assists against 0 deaths in Game 1 before he tallied 3 kills and 12 assists against 0 deaths in Game 2.

The space provided by KurtTzy paved the way for Salic “Hadjizy” Imam to roam freely in the map and put up perfect KDA stats in both games.

Hadjizy had 7 kills and 7 assists against 0 deaths with Granger in Game 1 and delivered 9 kills and 4 assists against 0 deaths with Bruno in Game 2.

While Omega returned to its winning ways, Cignal Ultra failed to snap out of its dry spell following two straight series losses to Onic PH, 1-2, and Work Auster Force, 0-2, on the same day.

Cignal Ultra remained without a win through 7 matches.

Meanwhile, Onic PH and Work Auster Force both ended their respective two-series losing streak. – Rappler.com
