Blacklist International exacts revenge on Bren Esports to move one series win away from reaching the grand finals of MPL PH

Blacklist International redeemed itself against Bren Esports as it relegated the defending champions to the lower bracket of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 7 playoffs.

Ending the regular season with a league-best 12-1 record, Blacklist stamped its class on Bren by hacking out a 3-2 win in their thrilling best-of-five series on Thursday, May 27 to secure its place in the upper bracket finals.

Reigning MPL PH Bren had the momentum on its side after taking Games 3 and 4 to force a winner-take-all battle.

However, Blacklist did not crumble under pressure as it stuck with its trademark heroes in Game 5 and dispatched Bren in under 18 minutes with a sizable 16-4 kill difference and a whopping 17,000 gold lead.

In a fitting display of dominance, Blacklist baited Bren to a clash for the Lord at the 16:30 minute mark and went on to wipe out its opponents en route to the victory.

EXP laner Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Paquito) took charge for Blacklist with 2 kills and 8 assists against 1 death, with both of his pickoffs coming against Bren jungler Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Lancelot).

Mid laner Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna (Popol and Kupa) shone for Blacklist with 7 kills and 5 assists against 1 death, while jungler Danerie “Wise” del Rosario (Yi Sun-Shin) had 4 kills and 7 assists against 1 death.

Gold laner Kiel “Oheb” Soriano (Harith) also made his presence felt in the win with 3 kills and 8 assists against 0 deaths, while Jayson “Eson” Gerardo (Rafaela) put up 13 assists against 1 death.

The win was sweet revenge for Blacklist as it absorbed its lone series loss in the regular season to Bren.

Blacklist will tangle with Aura Philippines in the best-of-five upper bracket finals, with the winner advancing to the championship match.

Meanwhile, Bren will resume its title-retention bid in the lower bracket against Work Auster Force. –
