In a battle of squads tied at the top, Blacklist International emerges as the superior team as it deals Onic Philippines a 2-1 loss to seize solo No. 1 in the standings

Blacklist International further cemented its status as the heavy favorite to rule Season 8 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines after trouncing Onic Philippines on Sunday, September 12.

In a battle of squads tied at the top, Blacklist emerged as the superior team as it dealt Onic a 2-1 loss in their best-of-three series to seize solo No. 1 in the standings.

After forcing a decider, Blacklist made easy work of Onic in Game 3 and wrapped up the match in under 13 minutes behind Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano.

Wise (Yi Sun-Shin) imposed his will against Onic with 7 kills and 6 assists against 0 deaths in Game 3, while Oheb (Harith) delivered 6 kills and 9 assists against 1 death.

Game 3 saw reigning champion Blacklist completely obliterate Onic as it led by 10,000 in gold and had only two of its turrets destroyed.

Onic absorbed its second straight series loss and dropped to second place with 13 points.

Meanwhile, Omega Esports snapped its three-series losing streak with a resounding sweep against TNC to propel itself to a share of third place with Nexplay EVOS with 9 points.

In the final series of the day, RSG Philippines followed up its upset of Onic the day prior with another big win as it took down Season 6 titleholder Bren Esports, 2-1.

RSG improved to 8 points and forged a tie with Echo at fifth place.

Bren, on the other hand, remained at the bottom with 5 points after six series. – Rappler.com
