Six Filipino para athletes are set for a major windfall from the MVP Sports Foundation if they manage to win a medal in the Paralympics

After dangling cash incentives for Filipino athletes who will bring home medals from the Tokyo Olympics, the MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) has also vowed to reward medalists in the Paralympics.

Sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan, the chairman of MVPSF, is allotting P5 million for gold, P2.5 million for silver, and P500,000 for bronze for Filipino Paralympic medalists.

The amount matches the financial bonus the government will hand out through the Philippine Sports Commission.

MVPSF earlier announced cash incentives for Filipino Olympic medalists of P10 million for gold, P5 million for silver, and P2 million for bronze.

The Tokyo Olympics will run from July 23 to August 8, while the Paralympics will be staged from August 24 to September 5. – Rappler.com
