LOS ANGELES, USA – Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight had surgery to repair a torn left knee ligament on Friday, August 25 (Saturday, August 26, Manila time), and will miss all of the 2017-18 NBA season, the Suns said.
Knight, who was hurt last month in a charity game, averaged 11.0 points and 2.4 assists in 54 games last season.
The 25-year-old holds career averages of 15.2 points and 4.3 assists in 382 career games with the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and Suns.
Confirmation that Knight would miss the entire season came on the same day that the Suns said rookie guard Davon Reed underwent meniscus surgery on his left knee and would be sidelined for 4 to 6 months.
Reed, 22, was selected by the Suns with the 32nd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He averaged 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals while appearing in all 6 of the Suns’ games at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. – Rappler.com
