‘Just need an opportunity,’ says Jeremy Lin as he continues his quest for an NBA comeback

Former New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin is hoping to get another shot in the NBA following an impressive stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League earlier this year.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Lin is the only player among the top 11 scorers from the G League bubble who has not signed an NBA contract this season.

“Just need an opportunity,” wrote Lin on Wednesday, April 14, Manila time, with the hashtag “been ready” in response to Stein’s tweet.

The 32-year-old Lin finished seventh in scoring in the G League bubble, averaging 19.8 points on a very efficient 50.5% field goal clip, along with 6.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 9 regular season games.

Lin had six 20+ point games during the season, including a 20-point performance in the Warriors’ semifinals loss to eventual champion Lakeland Magic.

Back in February, the Taiwanese-American Lin turned back the clock and flashed his vintage form, draining 7 three-pointers en route to a season-high 29 points in his team’s first victory.

While the other top scorers from the G League bubble such as Kevin Porter Jr. of the Houston Rockets and Jordan Poole of the Golden State Warriors have already found their way back to the NBA, Lin continues to stay in shape as seen on his Instagram posts, in the hopes of making his much-awaited NBA return this season.

Lin, who is known for his “Linsanity” run in 2012 with the Knicks, last saw action in the NBA during the 2018-2019 season as part of the historic Toronto Raptors championship squad. – Rappler.com
