Christmas came early for two Filipino frontliners who are both NBA fans as Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson surprised them with a virtual meet-and-greet.
Jelvin Co, a doctor, and CD Lastimosa, a teacher, had a chance to talk to the 28-year-old Utah Jazz guard in the NBA Republika Huddle show.
Clarkson acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices made by the two frontliners amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Just want to say thank you,” Clarkson said. “You guys are the real heroes. You guys keep this thing moving and what you guys do was harder than putting the ball in the basket and going out to entertain.”
“You guys are right there seeing everything and making a change and a difference.”
“I appreciate everything you do for everybody. Continue to inspire and do great things. I just want to thank you guys because it is harder than what people know. You do a lot of things.”
The NBA also gave Co and Lastimosa a gift package from the NBA Store.
Clarkson and the Jazz kick off their new season campaign against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, December 23 (Thursday, December 24, Manila time). – Rappler.com
