While averaging a triple-double, Wizards star Russell Westbrook has shot the ball terribly

The Russell Westbrook era in Washington is off to an ugly start.

Following a 130-120 loss to the Orlando Magic, Westbrook took full responsibility for the Wizards’ 0-2 start to the 2020-2021 regular season.

Westbrook, who got traded from the Houston Rockets early in December, dropped his second triple-double of the season with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists, but his efforts were not enough to carry the Wizards to a victory as they remained winless.

“We didn’t put ourselves in a position to win the game, especially myself, so I’ve got to do a better job,” said the former league MVP.

“This one is on me. Bullshiting around, missing these shots,” he added.

Westbrook is averaging 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 13.5 assists, but has shot the ball terribly, firing 15-of-41 from the field and 0-of-6 from deep early in the season.

Despite the two straight losses and his shooting woes, Westbrook became only the fourth player in NBA history – after Magic Johnson, Jerry Lucas, and Oscar Robertson – to record a triple-double in his team’s first two games of the season. – Rappler.com
