Ranidel De Ocampo injures back in weight-lifting session

MANILA, Philippines – Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters star Ranidel de Ocampo has injured his back and is scheduled for an MRI.

In a video posted by Talk ‘N Text assistant coach Josh Reyes on Instagram, Reyes says that De Ocampo tweaked his back and lost mobility. The injury happened this morning, Sunday, October 25 during team training, De Ocampo’s agent Charlie Dy confirmed to Rappler.

The video also sees De Ocampo being stretched into an ambulance van, with an MRI to take place once he gets to the hospital. 

“Let’s all pray for a good prognosis,” Reyes posted.

Former Gilas coach Chot Reyes said in a tweet that De Ocampo felt a twitch in his back and “could hardly move after” while lifting weights.

De Ocampo, 33, is one of the main scoring options for TNT as well as the Gilas national team.

Prayers for our brother, Ranidel. On the way to the hospital now to have an MRI on his back after tweaking it and losing mobility. Let's all pray for a good prognosis.
