Ginebra brings back Justin Brownlee as import in Commissioner’s Cup
Brownlee seeks to provide the same winning tradition he has developed with the squad after steering the Gin Kings to back-to-back Governors' Cup titles

MANILA, Philippines – Justin Brownlee is back for the PBA’s crowd darlings.

After absorbing its 3rd loss in its first 4 games in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Barangay Ginebra is looking to turn its fortunes around by bringing back former import Brownlee.

Brownlee’s agent and representative in the Philippines, Sheryl Reyes, announced the development on Twitter.

“[It’s] official, Justin Brownlee is back. Ginebra’s import once again. Watch him next game,” wrote Reyes.

Brownlee, who is fresh from helping Alab Pilipinas win the ASEAN Basketball League title earlier this month, will be replacing Charles Garcia. He looks to provide the winning tradition he has developed with the squad when he steered Ginebra to back-to-back championships in the Governor’s Cup.

Garcia had averaged 17.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. But his numbers didn’t translate into wins for the Gin Kings, who are currently at 9th place after a 98-103 double overtime loss to the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Sunday, May 20. – Rappler.com
