Isaac Go named 2019 PBA D-League MVP
The sweet-shooting big man edges fellow Ateneo stalwart Thirdy Ravena for the top individual plum

MANILA, Philippiines – For helping lead Cignal-Ateneo to the top spot in the 2019 PBA D-League, sweet-shooting big man Isaac Go has been awarded the conference Most Valuable Player award on Thursday, June 20.

The 6-foot-8 slotman bested teammate Thirdy Ravena, St. Clare-Virtual Reality’s Junjie Hallare and Joshua Fontanilla, and the Valencia-San Sebastian star duo of RK Ilagan and Allyn Bulanadi to win MVP honors.

He averaged 9.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just under 17 minutes a game under coach Tab Baldwin’s team-oriented system.

About to enter his final year in the UAAP Season 82, Go has risen to fan favorite status for making clutch plays and helping the Ateneo Blue Eagles win two straight championships from Season 80 to 81.

This is now Go’s second MVP award this year after nabbing the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) MVP plum back in January. There, the Blue Eagles dropped reigning NCAA champion San Beda in 3 games to win the PCCL championship.

Cignal-Ateneo is currently in the thick of the best-of-5 D-League Finals tied 1-1 against the undermanned, but dangerous CEU Scorpions. – Rappler.com
