MANILA, Philippines – Each PBA D-League game on Thursday, November 13, went down to the wire. By the end of the three contests, a three-way tie for the top spot in the league standings was established. Check out the results:

Bread Story-Lyceum holds off Tanduay Light for first win

In the opening game, Bread Story-Lyceum Smashing Bakers earned their first win in the 2014-2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup with a 69-64 victory over Tanduay Light.

Arellano Chiefs star Jiovani Jalalon led the charge for the winning side, putting up 15 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds while Joseph Gabayni pitched in with 8 markers. UST swingman Louie Vigil also contributed, registering 7 points.

It was Vigil’s 3-pointer that gave his team a 3-point lead in the third quarter, where Jalalon scored nearly half of his total output.

Late in the fourth period with the Smashing Bakers clinging on to a 62-60 lead, a basket by Gabayni rewarded his team some breathing room. Not long after, Jeremiah Taladua hit a 3-pointer to make the count 67-60, sealing the victory for Bread Story-Lyceum.

Tanduay, which converted only two field goals in the fourth quarter and went 50% from the foul stripe, was led by John Foronda and Robin Rono, who had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

University of the East standouts Roi Sumang and Gino Jumao-as had struggled on Thursday afternoon, combining for just 8 points.

Cafe France gets by Jumbo Plastic thanks to Ebondo’s double-double

Rodrigue Ebondo had 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Cafe France Bakers over the Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Giants, 66-61, in the second of Thursday’s three PBA D-League games.

Ebondo, the premier big man of the Centro Escolar University Scorpions, registered 10 of his 16 points in the second half where Cafe France led by as much 12, 56-44.

However, a late rally by Jumbo Plastic cut their opponents’ lead down to four before Cafe France managed to close them out. UE shooter Bong Galanza scored 11 for the winning side off the bench, while Joseph Sedurifa pitched in with 12 points.

Jaymo Eguilos scored 11 to lead Jumbo Plastic despite only taking 6 shot attempts, and was the lone double-digit scorer for his team.

Jumbo Plastic fell to 1-2 while Cafe France improved to 3-0, putting them in a three-way tie with Hapee and Cafe France for the top spot in the Aspirants Cup league standings.

Cagayan Valley keeps unbeaten record win Cebuana-Lhullier win

Abel Galliguez scored 11 of his game-high 22 points in the third quarter to lead the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns to its third straight win in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup during Thursday’s main event game against the Cebuana-Lhullier Gems, 79-76.

Galliguez also received help from former Adamson Soaring Falcon Don Trollano, who finished with 21 points, and Rey Mabulac, who put up 12.

The Rising Suns trailed by as much as 17, 29-12, in the first half before using a 13-2 run to open the fourth quarter to take the momentum and lead.

Cagayan Valley has won all its games this conference despite the absence of 2014 PBA D-League top overall pick Moala Tautuaa, who is expected to make his debut in his team’s next game.

Cebuana was led by former DLSU cagers Norbert Torres and Almond Vosotros, both of whom scored 15 points each. However, it were the late misses of Vosotros that cost his team the game, including the potential game-tying shot with under five seconds to go.
