Abel Galliguez falls head first following a shot contest on Ray Parks during the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals duel between Alaska and TNT

Alaska suffered a double whammy in its quarterfinals clash versus TNT as it got booted out of the PBA Philippine Cup after also losing guard Abel Galliguez to injury due to an ugly fall.

Galliguez slammed his head on the hardcourt following a shot contest on Tropang Giga star Ray Parks early in the final quarter and sustained a gash above his left eye.

The burly Aces guard laid on the floor for quite some time and he had to be stretchered off the court as he complained of neck pain, according to PBA courtside reporter Selina Dagdag.

PBA staff transferred Galliguez to a wheelchair and brought him to the Medical City Clark in Pampanga.

Alaska eventually absorbed an 83-104 loss as it crashed out of the All-Filipino quarterfinals for the fourth straight season.

TNT, meanwhile, advanced to the semifinals, joining Barangay Ginebra in the Final Four cast. – Rappler.com
