The Magnolia Hotshots sustained their blazing start in the PBA Philippine Cup after crushing the Terrafirma Dyip, 105-83, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Friday, July 30.
Ian Sangalang topscored for the Hotshots with 18 points, while Mark Barroca finished with an all-around game of 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists as they remained unbeaten in four outings.
The Hotshots built a huge 22-point lead early in the second half, 61-39, but the Dyip managed to cut the deficit back to single digits, 69-61, with two minutes left in the third period.
However, Magnolia went on another massive run in the opening minutes of the final frame to extend its lead to 26 points, 94-68, off a Jerrick Ahanmisi three-pointer, ultimately sealing the game for the Hotshots.
Ahamnisi, the 10th pick in the 2021 PBA Draft, chipped in 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting from deep for the Hotshots, while Calvin Abueva continued his stellar play for his new squad as he put up 14 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.
Roosevelt Adams had a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Juami Tiongson contributed 19 points for the Dyip, who remained winless in three outings.
