MANILA, Philippines – NLEX and head coach Yeng Guiao have officially gotten the big man they have been craving for quite some time now.
The Road Warriors acquired the services of center Poy Erram as the PBA approved the three-team trade involving the Blackwater Elite and the TNT KaTropa on Friday, December 28.
Also heading to NLEX is seldom-used slotman Papot Paredes, who was traded by the KaTropa to the Elite before being shipped again to the Road Warriors.
Blackwater, meanwhile, received top draftees Paul Desiderio and Abu Tratter from NLEX and Alfrancis Tamsi and a 2022 second round pick from TNT.
The KaTropa acquired the Road Warriors' Mike Miranda, who was first traded to the Elite. TNT also got a 2022 second round pick from Blackwater, which was part of the trade that dealt Paul Zamar to San Miguel.
With Erram, the Road Warriors get a quality big man who is a consistent double-double machine and proven two-way player.
He averaged 12.3 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 29 elimination round games through 3 conferences this season for the Elite.
The 6-foot-8 slotman is also no stranger to Guiao, whom he played for in the national team during the 2018 Asian Games and the World Cup qualifiers.
Blackwater, meanwhile, gets its youth movement going with the arrival of Desiderio and Tratter.
On other hand, TNT fortifies its frontcourt with the bruising Miranda. – Rappler.com
