The PBA is set to summon Poy Erram of TNT, JR Quinahan of NLEX, and Rodney Brondial of Alaska over flagrant one fouls committed right on the first day of 2020 Philippine Cup resumption last Sunday, October 11, at the Angeles University Foundation in Pampanga.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said in the weekly Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) forum on Tuesday, October 13, that he is scheduled to talk to the 3 big men, 2 of whom got ejected from their respective matches.
After already committing a flagrant one foul early in the game, both Erram and Quinahan got tossed out late in the third period of their respective games following a technical foul.
Luckily for Erram, who played his first game for the Tropang Giga, his team was able to get past Alaska, 100-95, thanks to Roger Pogoy’s 45-point explosion.
Erram left the game with 4 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Meanwhile, NLEX suffered a big blow with the ejection of Quinahan, who topscored for 26 points.
Ginebra pounced on NLEX, 102-92, without the Road Warriors’ big man in the 4th quarter.
Marcial said penalties have yet to be decided for the 3 players. – Martin Mendoza/Rappler.com
