Mikey Williams signs with TNT more than a month since the franchise picked him No. 4 overall in the PBA Draft

TNT has officially secured the services of PBA rookie Mikey Williams.

Williams signed a two-year deal with the KaTropa more than a month since the flagship franchise of the MVP group picked him No. 4 overall in the PBA Draft.

TNT team manager Gabby Cui confirmed the news on Monday, April 26.

Williams, a Filipino-American, is one of the most experienced in the latest crop of PBA rookies, having played in the NBA G League for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Canton Charge.

The KaTropa notably moved up in the draft to select the 29-year-old guard after star player Ray Parks announced he will skip the next PBA season.

Left without a pick in the first two rounds of the draft, TNT figured in a three-team trade with NLEX and Blackwater to acquire the No. 4 pick.

Williams last saw action in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, where he averaged 15.9 points, 6.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals for the GenSan Warriors in the Lakan Cup. – Rappler.com
