TNT steals win away from Alaska behind Pogoy’s treys
TNT KaTropa improves to a 2-1 card while Alaska suffers their 4th straight loss

MANILA, Philippines – The Alaska Aces looked poised to bag their first win after starting strong but TNT KaTropa had other plans.

KaTropa overcame a sluggish start and made it rain threes in the last quarter to claim the victory against the Aces, 107-106, in the 2017 Oppo PBA Governers’ Cup on Friday, August 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After trailing since the first period, TNT’s RR Pogoy try tied the game at 99-all. Pogoy fought hard and sank another step back three-pointer to put his squad ahead, 103-105.

Ranidel De Ocampo and Jayson Castro showed their own heroics to seal the deal for TNT after connecting a triple apiece with a minute left in the game.

LaDontae Henton refused to give up and fired a 3 for Alaska to make it a one-point game, 107-106, but wasn’t enough to gain the win.

KaTropa were behind by as many as 12 points in the previous quarters but managed to dismantle Alaska’s defense in the 4th period as they flushed an impressive 12-0 run. – Rappler.com
