San Miguel guard Von Pessumal and former beauty queen Laura Lehmann reveal that they 'quietly' got married earlier this year in a civil ceremony

San Miguel guard Von Pessumal and former beauty queen Laura Lehmann have tied the knot.

The newlyweds revealed on Sunday, May 23 that they “quietly” got married earlier this year in a civil ceremony.

“We decided to keep it to ourselves for a while,” Pessumal wrote on Instagram as caption to their wedding photos.

“The thing is, when you are with someone who shares the same vision and passion for success as yourself, matters such as marriage simply become more of a legality than a drastic lifestyle change.”

Pessumal compared his partnership with Lehmann to that of teammates.

“Having you in my life has been nothing short of perfection. It’s honestly like playing with a great point guard; if I do my job well, I know my team will win. I will love you everyday and always.”

Lehmann described their wedding as the “best day of my life.”

“I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me,” Lehmann wrote on Instagram.

The two have been together since college, back when Pessumal played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP and Lehmann served as the courtside reporter of the team.

Pessumal now plays for San Miguel in the PBA, while Lehmann – the 2017 Miss World Philippines – continues to work as a television and events host.
