The Zamboanga Valientes finish the first PBA 3x3 conference with a horrendous 0-24 record

MANILA, Philippines – The Zamboanga Valientes wrapped up their campaign in the first PBA 3×3 conference without a single win after forfeiting all of their games in the sixth and final leg on Monday, December 20.

“[They were] having a difficult time completing a lineup because of injuries,” said PBA 3×3 chairman Dickie Bachmann. “They opted to forfeit their games in Leg 6.”

According to a broadcast report, Zamboanga stalwarts Mac Cardona, Gino Jumao-as, and Das Esa sustained injuries throughout the conference.

It was a disappointing ending for the Valientes, one of the three guest teams which joined the inaugural PBA 3×3 tournament, considering the other two – Platinum Karaoke and Pioneer Pro Tibay – both managed to reach the finals in the second and third legs, respectively.

Platinum and Pioneer are also in the running to see action in the grand finals, where only the top 10 teams throughout the first conference will advance.

Zamboanga finished the conference with a horrendous 0-24 record after compiling a 0-20 record in the first five legs, with its last four losses coming from its forfeited matches in the sixth leg.

“They will be back next conference,” said Bachmann. – Rappler.com
