Philippines bags 11th gold medal in SEAG lawn bowl

MANILA, Philippines – The national men's lawn bowl team bagged the Philippines' 11th gold medal in the 29th Southeast Asian Games at the National Lawn Bowls Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The quartet of Emmanuel Portacio, Ronald Lising, Leoncio Carreon Jr, and Curte Robert Guari bested SEA Games lawn bowl favorite Malaysia, 16-14, in the men's four event.

The Malaysian team, composed of Zulhimie Redzuan, Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple, Safuan Said, and Daeng Dhadyry Dahasry, settled for the silver medal finish.

The last time the Philippines entered the SEA Games lawn bowl tournament was in 2007, where the team was able to bag a silver and 3 bronze medals. – Rappler.com
