The venue for the opening ceremonies, football, and athletics — the Governor Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium — is almost 100% ready as the athletes, with their coaches and officials, from all the 17 regions in the Philippines flock to this city. The 5,000-seater Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center is likewise all set to host the Basketball events next week.

Huge milestone for Oriental Negrenses

“As we receive the Palarong Pambansa in our province, we are also opening Negros Oriental to greater programs and projects thus creating more opportunities, more improvements and more developments. The Palarong Pambansa is a huge milestone for all of us Oriental Negrenses,” Gov Roel Degamo, who promises this year’s Palaro to be “unsurpassable,” said in the official games’ website.

The province’s landmark Silliman University will also be hosting some of the Basketball and Football games, together with the chess and tennis events. The Foundation University, on the other hand, will be the venue of volleyball, and other football qualifying games.
