DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Javelin throwers broke the one-year-old Palaro record four times but it was Central Luzon’s Bryan Jay Pacheco who came out on top in Day 2 of the 2013 Palarong Pambansa here.

Pacheco threw 57.81 meters to shatter Danilo Abarra’s 51.51-meter mark set in the 2012 Palaro in Lingayen.

Pacheco’s record throw was enough to offset the challenge delivered by Joshua Patalud of NCR and Western Visayas ace and Day 1 gold medalist Renzy John Gemolaga, who finished with the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
