MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines is still not done with clinching medals in the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games as athletes from sailing and taekwondo grabbed silver medals apiece on Monday, August 28, at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Taekwondo bet Rhezie Aragon fought hard but still fell short in the hands of Indonesia’s Mariska Halinda, 4-9, in the finals of women’s bantamweight (-53kg) class competition. 

Aragon copped the second silver of the Philippines taekwondo team which contributed a total of 7 medals in the tournament. All in all, the taekwondo jins collected two gold medals, a pair of silvers and 3 bronzes.

Meanwhile, Geylord Coveta sealed the men’s RS one windsurfing second place, finishing behind gold medalist Natthaphong Phonoppharat of Thailand. Host country Malaysia also landed a podium finish and grabbed the bronze courtesy of Illham Wahab. 

Sailing wound up with a silver and a bronze.

As of presstime, the Philippine team medal output of 108 medals includes 23 golds, 30 silvers, and 55 bronzes.
