Meanwhile, Cendy Asusano and Ernie Gawilan both struck gold once more as they scored triumphant victories in their respective para athletics and swimming events. 

Asusano delivered her 3rd gold for the athletics department courtesy of the women’s shotput F54 event. 

The 27-yeard-old Asusano, who likewise ruled the javelin throw and discus throw F54 events, topped the race after registering a best distance of 5.5 meters. She was joined in the stands by silver medalist Thi Ngoc Thuy of Vietnam, and fellow Filipina Marites Burce who snagged bronze.

Ernie Gawilan, veteran of the para swimming team and representative to the 2016 Rio Paralympics, also brought home another gold after emerging victorious in the men’s 200m individual medley SM8 event on Friday morning.
