Surviving a tough lower bracket campaign, TNC Predator sweeps Neon Esports to repeat as Asia Pacific Predator League champion in Dota 2

TNC Predator exacted revenge on fellow Filipino team Neon Esports to rule the Dota 2 tournament of the Asia Pacific Predator League for the second straight edition on Sunday, April 11.

Honed by its arduous trip in the lower bracket, TNC Predator swept the best-of-three grand finals to deal the unbeaten Neon Esports a heartbreaking defeat.

It turned out to be a sweet revenge for TNC Predator, which got relegated to the lower bracket after losing to Neon Esports, 1-0, in the semifinals.

TNC Predator needed to survive Galaxy Racer and Reckoning Esports to stay alive before it toppled Boom Esports in the lower bracket finals to set up a rematch with Neon Esports in the championship round.

Composed of Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, Armel “Armel” Tabios, Marvin “Boomy” Rushton, and Jun “Bok” Kanehara, TNC Predator took home the grand prize of $50,000.

Neon Esports bagged $25,000 and Boom Esports netted $10,000.

Other teams which participated in the tournament included 496 Gaming, Team Mystery, PSTR, Team STAR, and Team SOOS. – Rappler.com
