MANILA, Philippines – The Gilas cadets downed the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals, 82-69, to end on a high note their campaign in the 12th FIlOil Preseason Cup Tuesday, June 12, at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Matt Nieto topscored for the Cadets with 15 points on 4/7 shooting from beyond the arc. Ken Tuffin followed with 13 points on top of 5 rebounds and two steals.

Gilas opened the match strong with an 11-0 run giving them to 13-2 lead. The Generals responded with a 10-0 run of their own fuelled by JP Maguliano and Vincent Robin bringing the game to a close lead at 13-12.

To extend the lead in favor of the Cadets, Tuffin scattered 5 unanswered points to end the first half at 42-31.

Gilas kept the Generals at bay the entire second half.
