UAAP Season 78 first round schedule

MANILA, Philippines – You can finally smell the UAAP season in the air with the release of the first round schedule for Season 78.

Hosts University of the Philippines figure in a rematch of last year’s opening day when they go up against University of the East at 2 pm on Saturday, September 5 following the opening ceremonies at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

University of Santo Tomas and Adamson University follow that match up at 4 pm. Opening weekend then moves to the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, September 6 with National University kicking off their title defense against a deadly De La Salle University at 12 noon.

Runner-up Far Eastern University then takes on Ateneo de Manila University to cap off the first week at 4 pm.

The much-anticipated Blue Eagles-Green Archers battle is slated for 4 pm on Sunday, October 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena. While the rematch of last year’s thrilling Finals between the Tamaraws and the Bulldogs will take place on Wednesday, October 7 at 4 pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, action on the hardcourt will be interrupted on Saturday, October 3 when all 8 schools duke it out for supremacy on the dance floor during the annual Cheerdance Competition to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena starting at 2 pm.
