DLSU Lady Spikers dismantle winless UE Lady Warriors in 3 sets
La Salle cruises to an easy win while UE continues to spiral down the standings

MANILA, Philippines- The De La Salle Lady Spikers dominated the still winless University of the East Lady Warriors in an emphatic straight set win, 25-10, 25-13, 25-21, in the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball tourney on Sunday, February 21, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Mika Reyes led the scoring for the Lady Spikers with 10 points while Ara Galang chipped in 9 markers.

DLSU now improved their cards to 4-1 while UE continues to dwell at the cellar.

Despite easy win however, La Salle recorded 23 unforced errors and it’s something they have to avoid in their coming games especially against archrival Ateneo, as Coach Ramil De Jesus said.

“We will try to minimize our errors. We still have to improve on it,” said De Jesus in Filipino.

The Lady Spikers gained charge early in the game courtesy of the lethal attacking provided by Reyes and Galang who recorded 9 and 8 attacks, respectively.

The Lady Warriors tried to retaliate in the second frame but La Salle strongly destroyed its defense and buried UE in a 24-13 deficit it wasn’t able to recover from.

UE managed to stay alive in the third canto, trimming La Salle’s lead from 19-13 to 19-17 and even trailed to 24-21 before a Fajardo attack sealed the deal for the Lady Spikers.
