Adamson sacks coach Duremdes
Kenneth Duremdes will no longer call the shots for the Adamson Falcons this coming UAAP Season 78

MANILA, Philippines — Kenneth Duremdes will no longer call the shots for the Adamson Falcons this coming UAAP Season 78, Duremdes confirmed Sunday, May 31.

The university has yet to make a formal announcement on who will take his place.

The former PBA MVP said he has “no plans yet” on where he will go next and intends to take a vacation in the meantime.

The 41-year old Duremdes took over from Leo Austria in late 2013 and inherited a predominantly rookie team.

His lone year with the Falcons proved shaky and disappointing as the team slumped to last place with a 1-13 record. The lone win came at season’s end at the expense of the UP Fighting Maroons.

Adamson made history for the wrong reasons last season as eventual champions NU Bulldogs beat them down in the first round, 62-25, which was the lowest scoring output of any UAAP team since 2003.

In their second round meeting, the Bulldogs held the Falcons to just two points in one quarter in another blowout loss. The last team to score two points in a quarter was Ateneo in 2003.

Duremdes was a former Falcon himself and helped the team to the Finals in 1992.
