Parallel bars final

Carlos Yulo more than made up for his missed chance to defend his world title in the floor exercise.

Just hours after winning the vault gold medal, the Filipino gymnast captured another medal in the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Japan on Sunday, October 24.

Yulo capped his campaign with a silver in the parallel bars with a score of 15.300. China’s Hu Xuwei captured the gold (15.466).

The feat made Yulo, the 2019 world champion in the floor exercise, the first Filipino gymnast to win multiple world medals

Floor exercise final

Carlos Yulo finished fifth in the floor exercise event as the Filipino gymnast fell short of his title defense in the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Japan on Saturday, October 23.

A crucial penalty denied the gymnastics star a second straight world championship.

Yulo, who topped the qualifiers last Wednesday, had hoped to replicate his historic feat in 2019 where he became the first Southeast Asian gymnast to bag a world crown.
