The VisMin Super Cup got the green light from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) on Monday, May 10, to stage the Mindanao leg of its inaugural season.
After wrapping up the Visayas leg, the VisMin Super Cup will kick off the Mindanao edition on May 30, with the host yet to be announced by the league.
Only a week into the season, the VisMin Super Cup found itself in hot water, no thanks to a controversial game between the Siquijor Mystics and Lapu-Lapu City Heroes whose players appeared to deliberately miss shots.
The GAB launched an investigation into the matter and the VisMin Super Cup expelled Siquijor from the league.
Meanwhile, a number of Lapu-Lapu City players were punished with fines and suspensions for their sloppy play.
The VisMin Super Cup eventually resumed the season and completed the Visayas leg, with KCS Mandaue City Computer Specialists emerging as champions over the MJAS Zenith Talisay City Aquastars.
