The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) postponed the Perlas Spikers’ games after a member of the team delegation tested positive for the coronavirus.

To prevent the spread of the virus inside the PVL bubble in Ilocos Norte, the personnel who tested positive was moved to an isolation facility.

Meanwhile, all Perlas team members are undergoing quarantine in individual rooms and will undergo an RT-PCR test on the fifth day since their last RT-PCR test.

“Pending the results [of the tests], the scheduled games of Perlas have been postponed,” said Ricky Palou, president of the organizing Sports Vision Management Group Inc.

The Perlas Spikers were slated to play in the PVL season launch on Saturday, July 17 against the Cignal HD Spikers but the league decided to put their games on hold due to the positive test.

Prior to the season opening, seven Perlas players and one coach tested positive for COVID-19 during their training camp in Baguio. –
