Ateneo de Manila University Azure Eagles vs Asia Pacific College Rams

Game 1

The Azure Eagles go for a “protect-the-Jinx” composition with strong front-liners like Shyvana and Darius, and an assassin to round it off. Bans on AoE champions that can disrupt their rhythm and a strong late-game carry like Vayne ensures enough space for their ADC.

Meanwhile, the Rams go for a more AoE-based composition, with Gragas and Renekton to guard their roster. High mobility champions who could take them by surprise are banned out.

Both teams assert their dominance early in the game with a small skirmish near the Dragon Pit. It ends with an equal trade of kills: Rams.Fluffy Kid-Annie manages to secure first blood on AZE.Zen is such a qt-Shyvana, but AZE.King of Motus-Leblanc retaliates by killing Rams.Fuaroo-Morgana immediately to avenge his teammate.

The balance begins to tilt when the top laner of the Eagles descend. With a well-timed teleport at bot lane, AZE.foopie-Darius skillfully earns himself a triple kill.

“Get dunked!” AZE.foopie Teleports to the botlane and executes both bot laners of APC Rams with his Noxian Guillotine. The Azure Eagles push and win  Game 1 of the series. With resets on the Guillotine of the Noxian general, and on the movement speed procs of their ADC, Rams has no time to reposition themselves for a good turnaround.

Game 2

Once again, the Azure Eagles opt for a “protect-the-Jinx” composition, buffing it up with Ekko and Hecarim as front liners and AoE disruptors. They ban the same trio as they did in Game 1.

The Rams decide to go for a pick composition with Zed and Lissandra. Both are able to isolate and kill opponents and can shut down ADMU’s carries. Darius receives a respect ban, relieving Rams of any pressure to control.

Looking for a comeback in the second round, the Rams make good rotations and manage to get a good lead. Rams. J o h n y y-Corki and Rams.Fuaroo-Zed become relentless as the game progresses, both their power spikes leaving members of the Azure Eagles behind on gold and items.

Despite their early-game disadvantage, the Eagles manages to get an ace out of the Rams’ own jungle. AZE.Tenno-Jinx picks up steam. With the handy Quicksilver sash on his item slot, he’s not easily taken out of the clashes.

“This is our land!” All the members of Azure Eagles punish the Rams for lingering in their jungle, scoring themselves an ace.

The Azure Eagles push the Rams to the walls of their base. Rams.J o h n n y-Corki tries to put the same pressure, but goes in too deep into the chase. Underestimating the Hecarim’s damage and sustain, Rams’ ADC falls short of his endeavors leaving his team mates on a 4v5 defense. Rams.St. Ghexus-Lissandra attempts to even the trade but the Eagles’ ADC is well protected.

Soaring high, the Azure Eagles catches the Rams in this scramble. Winning the series, they proceed to the grand finals!
