MANILA, Philippines – Hacking group OurMine Team temporarily accessed the Quora account of Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Monday, June 27 (Manila time), with their posts on Quora going live on Pichai’s Twitter account during the hack.

The Next Web reported the group posted messages on Quora, a service that allows users to answer questions sent in by other users, under his account.

In the messages they posted on Quora, OurMine Team said they were just testing security, but also noted that they hacked Pichai’s account. They also made Pichar’s Quora account follow OurMine Team’s account, which is already banned on the site.

Because Pichai’s Quora account is connected to Twitter, the hack was publicized to his more than 508,000 followers.

OurMine Team was previously in the spotlight for gaining access to the accounts of other notable members of the tech sector.

OurMine Team previously gained temporary access to the Pinterest and Twitter accounts of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

As of this posting, Sundar Pichai’s Twitter page has been scrubbed of the Quora posts.

Quora users, however, were baffled by the recent erratic behavior, leading to further activity on Quora asking about what happened to Pichai’s account.
