Philippine Airlines joins Note7 ban
PAL is also prohibiting the use of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on its flights, effective immediately

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL) has joined the list of airlines banning the use and charging of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on all of its flights.

The phone from the Korean tech giant has been recalled worldwide after batteries of a number of units caught fire during charging

The ban is effective immediately, according to an advisory issued on PAL’s Facebook page, Monday, September 12.

Similar to the Note7 policies issued by other airlines, the devices are not allowed as check-in items but can be carried aboard the flight as long as they are switched off at all times.

The units will also not be accepted as PAL cargo shipment.

Prior to the PAL advisory, other airlines operating in the Philippines such as Cebu Pacific and AirAsia already issued bans on the Note7. – Rappler.com
