PH Dota 2 team Execration imports Malaysian star in buildup to Boston Major

MANILA, Philippines – With only a month left until the $3,000,000 Boston Major event, Philippine-based team Execration have announced that Adam “343” Shah will be joining their active roster.

Announced on Thursday, Nov 3, the Malaysian support position player will be taking the place of Rafael “Rapy” Sicat Palo for the Boston Major, which is to be held in the titular US city’s Wang Theatre from December 7 to 10. Palo, on the other hand, will still be playing for the team in the upcoming ROG Masters event on November 12 and 13, and will stay on the roster as a substitute.

Akin to competitive Tennis’ “Grand Slams,” Dota 2’s “majors” are seasonal events where the game’s cream-of-the-crop compete for millions of dollars. The 2016-2017 season is set to have 2 smaller events – including the Boston Major – with $3,000,000 of prize money each alongside a much larger event, called “The International.” 

Execration was directly invited to the Boston Major fresh off a victory at the MPGL Southeast Asian Championship in Selangor, Malaysia last September 11. Joining them as representatives of the Southeast Asian region are Korea’s MVP Phoenix, Malaysia’s WG.Unity and the predominantly-Singaporean Team Faceless. – Rappler.com
