MANILA, Philippines – Samsung followed up its midrange A6 series for 2018 with the less expensive Galaxy J6, a phone priced at P13,990 sporting a 5.6-inch HD display, an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a dual-sim configuration.
Samsung’s official communiqué for the low-cost midranger/budget unit highlights its entertainment features. They’re focusing on the phone’s extra-wide 18.5:9 aspect ratio (which we’ve seen many phones from budget to other brands’ flagships adopt this year), Dolby Atmos technology for sound quality.
The Samsung J6 is powered by a Samsung Exynos 1.6 Gigahertz, 14-nanometer octa-core chip which is possibly the same one in the standard A6.
For photos, the J6 comes equipped with an 8MP f/1.9 front camera with 3 levels of LED flash, and face-recognition based augmented reality (AR) stickers. On the rear is a 13MP f/1.9 shooter with LED flash.
The phone comes in black and gold variants, and has been available since June 16. – Rappler.com
