MANILA, Philippines – The roster of fighters for Nintendo’s popular crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate just got even bigger with the addition of The Hero from Dragon Quest and Banjo-Kazooie.
Both fighters were revealed as the next DLC characters at Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, June 11 (June 12, Manila time) ahead of E3 2019.
The Hero can seemingly take the form of the different main characters in Square Enix’s long-running Dragon Quest series of games, though his primary form will likely be that of the Luminary from Dragon Quest XI. It is currently unclear if these would be mirror fighters or just alternate skins, though we’re certainly hoping for the former.

Banjo-Kazooie, meanwhile, are the stars of a Nintendo 64 platforming game of the same name. Their addition to the game seems a lot more surprising given that the developers of the Banjo-Kazooie games, Rare, is now owned by Microsoft.
