MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – At an event held at its Cupertino headquarters on September 10 (September 11 Philippine time), Apple announced the launch date for iOS 7: September 18.
Tim Cook prefaced the announcement by saying, “Soon, we’re going to witness an event really almost unprecedented in our industry, when virtually overnight hundreds of millions of people download iOS 7.”
In its announcement post, Apple said that iOS 7 would come with over 200 new features, as well as a new interface.
Apple’s update to its mobile platform is slated to have a number of different features and changes, which you can see on Rappler’s preview of iOS 7.
Most notably, Apple also announced at the event that its two new iPhone 5 designs, the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S, would run on iOS 7.
The iOS 7 update will be made available for the iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini and the 5th generation iPod Touch, though certain features of iOS 7 will not be available on specific devices due to their limitations. – Rappler.com
