MANILA, Philippines – Not content with its Xperia Z2 smartphone offering, Sony also revealed the Xperia Z2 tablet at the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The tablet sports a 10.1-inch, 1920×1200 pixel display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm processor and an Adreno 330 graphics processor.
It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and has 3GB of RAM, up to 16 GB of flash memory, and up to 64GB of additional storage using a microSD card expansion slot.
The Xperia Z2 tablet has an 8.1 megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 2.2 megapixel camera suporting 1080p HD video. With a built-in LTE 4G modem, the Xperia Z2 tablet can also get on the Internet with speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s for downloads and 50 Mbit/s for upload, depending on a user’s network.
The tablet is 6.4 mm thin and weighs less than 440 grams. It is also built to be waterproof up to a depth of up to 1.5 meters and dust-resistant.
It also comes with a feature to improve battery life using Battery STAMINA Mode, turning off unneeded functions when the user isn’t using the display and starting them back up when the screen goes active again.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet will be sold globally in March.
