Samsung's Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Tab Pro 8.4 go on sale in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Samsung announced the availability and pricing for its Pro line of tablets in the Philippines during a product launch on Monday, March 24, 2014.

Announced at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Samsung’s Pro line of tablets represents the Korean tech giant’s push into the productivity space with better specs and a range of productivity tools.

At CES 2014, Samsung presented the TabPro in 3 sizes – 8.4 inches, 10.1 inches and 12.2 inches – and the 12.2-inch NotePro. In the Philippines, Samsung will only sell the stylus-equipped Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

According to Ivan Cua, Samsung Philippines’ Category Head for Tablets, the focus on tablets is based on trends showing that tablets are taking over the notebook PC space.

“We see it as a product that will reshape the PC business,” he said.

The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is already available at Samsung stores and retails for P39,990. The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 will retail for 18,990 when it goes on sale next week. The tablets join Samsung Philippines’ other tablet offerings including the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition.  — Rappler.com
