MANILA, Philippines –– If you can’t beat them, join them.
In response to the barrage of leaks that have surfaced over the last week, LG unveiled an official teaser video for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G3, on Wednesday, May 14.
“Simple is the new smart” is the tag phrase that will headline the phone’s launch set for May 27 in London. Invites sent out to the press included a quote from American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson, “To be simple is to be Great.”
While the smartphone appears to retain the same form factor as its predecessor, the G2, it will deliver on at least one thing we had hoped to see in the Samsung Galaxy S5, a more premium look and feel.
The G3 will feature a slimmer, sleeker profile with an aluminum unibody construction and a brushed metal finish reminiscent of the HTC One (M8). The device will also not have any physical buttons on its display and will carry over the oddly placed power button/volume rocker on its backside.
