MANILA, Philippines – Samsung’s latest smartphone for active lifestyles is heading to the US with help from Sprint.

CNET reports that Sprint will offer the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport to US on July 25. The Galaxy S5 Sport is a water-resistant and dustproof version of the standard Galaxy S5 smartphone.

This means it will carry the same 5.1-inch 1920×1080 resolution AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor as the usual Galaxy S5.

Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and sporting 2GB of RAM, the device will also take advantage of a 2800mAh battery.

Sprint is also joining forces with Under Armour, which owns the fitness app MapMyFitness, and streaming music provider Spotify. The result will be a Galaxy S5 Sport fitness experience that serves as part the Sprint Fit Live offerings of the company.

CNET adds that Spint will be selling Cherry Red and Electric Blue versions of the smartphone for zero money down and for $27.09 per month, which is around $199 for customers on monthly contracts. – Rappler.com
