MANILA, Philippines – Earlier this week, Apple introduced the 6th Generation of the iPod Touch after almost 3 years since the previous model.
It’s packed with the latest from Apple including the new 64-bit A8 processor, same as the one in the iPhone 6, promising up to 10 times better performance and more efficient power consumption.
The cameras are upgraded into an 8mp iSight camera at the back and Facetime HD in front, allowing users to capture images in burst mode or videos in slow-motion at 120 frames-per-second (fps) for 720p, with 1080p available at 30fps.
“With big advancements like the A8 chip and the 8 megapixel iSight camera, customers can experience next-level gameplay, take even more beautiful photos and enjoy their favorite music, TV shows and movies,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Vice President of iPhone, iPod and iOS Product Marketing.
At the surface, it has the same 4-inch multi-touch IPS screen display with 1136×640 resolution as the previous iPod Touch while a slew of new colors (Space Gray, Gold, Silver, a new shade of Pink, and a darker shade of Blue) are available at the back.
The new iPod Touch also features an M8 Motion coprocessor for better fitness tracking, and faster Wi-Fi support with 802.11ac.
iPod Shuffle and Nano were also updated aesthetically, now in the same colors as the new iPod Touch.
The new iPod Touch is now available in 16GB ($199), 32GB ($249), 64GB ($299), and the Apple Store exclusive 128GB ($399).
It will also be available locally soon, with prices on the Apple Store ranging from P12,590 for the 16 GB model to P24,990 for the 128GB iPod Touch. – Rappler.com
